McNeela Virtuoso Violin
The instrument was very well packed and intact when it arrived. The delivery time was respected and I received the instrument one day before the promised date.
It is a very beautiful instrument. As advertised, it really is easy to play. The bow is excelent. I loved it very much.
The only thing I would say is different from what was advertised, is that it did need adjustments. I had to bring it to my luthier, so he could adjust the bridge, the tunning pegs, the nut and the soundpost (which I consider normal, as every musician has their own preferences). So, I had to spend some extra dollars on the adjustments to guarantee that it would work properly. Now it works perfectly and sounds amazing.

McNeela Virtuoso Violin
I immediately brought this violin to our local luthier after receiving it, given the problems we experienced with another McNeela Music violin. The luthier first pointed out that the bridge is adhered to the varnish, possibly caused by tension of the strings when set or heat exposure during shipping, Additionally, he identified spots where the varnish is absent around the edges and on the back. Can't get an accurate sound until we can tune it and that requires the bridge in correct position, so into the shop it will go in September.
Due to the bridge problem and lack of varnish in areas and shop repairs I took 2 stars off. I honestly hate to give bad reviews to but felt my mother really tried to work with this company before and even gave them additional chances by trusting and purchasing more violins. Be sure to really have your violins checked.

Hi Brandy,
Thank you for the candid feedback. One point however, the other violin was a Bravura violin. As with that violin it does seem heat exposure and environmental stress, particularly heat/dryness during transit or local climate swings on it's way to Montana, has stuck the bridge to the varnish.
On the points you raised about the finish touch-ups, it's hard to imagine spots with zero varnish as it's given multiple light coats, but it is finished with a distressed style to match the antique violin it's modelled off, but having said that, based on your feedback we've added another a layer of checks for both the varnish and the bridge and we have made packing/handling updates aimed at limiting heat/humidity stress in transit.
And I’ve reached out by email with a goodwill gesture and warranty extension, and we will keep prioritising your family’s instruments into the future.
Kind regards,
Emma
