16" Tuneable Bodhrán with carry bag

“Beautifully made and sounds great.” - Alan B.

The 16” Tuneable Bodhrán has a 4 ½ inch rim, which is reinforced with an added layer of wood, to give it extra strength, depth and sustain.

It’s made using sustainably sourced, hand-stretched goatskin, and comes with a removable T-bar and arm cut-out to make it easier to hold and more comfortable to play.

This tuneable bodhran has our unique 6-point tuning system, so you can easily adjust its sound in response to the musicians you’re playing with and the kinds of tunes you’re playing together.

This is a handsome instrument that’s been built to last, and will guarantee you an enthusiastic welcome at any Irish trad session.

Fine-Tune as You Play

Our 6-point tuning system is effortlessly responsive and is easy to grip and fast to tune. This allows you to adjust your bodhrán whenever you need to so you can respond to the music you're playing, or to any changes in humidity or temperature, without interrupting your playing.

Sonic Complexity & Wide Tonal Range

All our bodhráns come taped around the edges, which helps to ‘dampen’ the tone, in much the same way that E rings do when used on a set of drums. This technique extends the harmonic range of the instrument and adds complexity to the bass tones.

Goatskins Stretched by Hand

Our bodhráns are made from sustainably sourced goatskins that are hand-cured and hand-stretched, and are each individually treated and conditioned without the use of chemicals. Because the sound you make depends on the quality of the skin you use.
